All the students who wish to get training to be an instructor have to have completed the intermediate level of dancing before they move to the Junior instructor level . Any student who wants to train to be an instructor at Rocky Poonawlas should be Honest , dedicated , Hard working , commited and above all true to your art...
In case of Bollywood and Hip Hop, the instructors have to complete intermediate level of dance to get to the junior instructor level.
In case of latin styles , the instructor has to have undertaken training in the following styles Salsa , Cha cha , Jive , Rumba , Samba , Merengue atleast.
Probationer instructor
Every Instructor has to go through Probation to get to the assistant instructor level. In this the Students needs to understand the Principles, Rules and Work Ethics that we believe in. Student having completed the basic level of salsa, cha cha, Jive, Rumba & Merengue or Bollywood and Hip Hop depending on the genre of dance training selected, can aspire to be a probationer.
The Instructor will be given training to conduct classes ,taught how to handle the back office management and administration and also trained in the intricacies of teaching dance techniques and the distinct ways to handle a class . The Instructor has to assist a senior instructor and learn the art of conducting a class. Whether the instructor has to get trained to handle a single batch or multiple batches shall be decided by Rocky Poonawala. It will always be fruitful for a probationer instructor to get a chance to be present in multiple number of batches, as the growth and understanding and learning to handle students in a variety of batches and teach them various dance techniques becomes faster and easier.
The instructor will be on probation for 6 to 12 months depending on the interest , commitment , talent and hard work.
Depending of the level of their performance in handling a class and teaching students , the probationer instructor shall get promoted to become an assistant instructor, but not until Rocky Poonawala is sure of their capability. We believe in quality, and hence the prerequisites.
Assistant instructor
As an assistant instructor, one gets to handle the class with a senior instructor and even gets to conduct classes all by oneself at times. However, this decision lies with the senior instructor depending on the growth process and capacity of the assistant instructor. To be an assistant instructor one has to have finished the improvers Level of Salsa, Cha cha, Jive, Rumba, Merengue or Bollywood & Hip Hop depending on the genre of dance training selected.
At this level the Instructor shall be given more than a single batch to handle for fast and rigorous learning. An assistant instructor has to manage and understand the admission process and the ways to conduct a class alone thus making the assistant instructor ready to move to the next level on the ladder.
The assistant instructor can train from 3 months to 9 months depending on their progress to move to the Junior instructor level.
Junior instructor
A junior instructor,after getting trained from being a probationer instructor and assistant instructor shall get to handle the class alone or with another junior instructor. At this stage, the instructors finally get a chance to work at the same level and conduct batches all by themselves. To be a Junior instructor one has to have completed the Imtermediate level of Salsa, Cha cha, Jive, Rumba, Merengue or Bollywood & hip hop depending on the genre of dance style selected.
Rocky Poonawala himself will check the commitment and talent of these instructors and will test them onTeaching techniques and management techniques.
Only selective few shall move to becoming a Senior instructor.
Senior instructor
Instructors for this position shall be selected solely by Rocky Poonawala depending on their capability and commitment.
Chief Instructor
The instructor will be auditioned before being selected for the same.
